I started teaching in 2000. I started out with 7th grade math having always thought I wanted to be in high school. Turns out I was wrong. I wanted to be a 7th grade teacher. Funny how things work out. My first year the four core teachers were on a team and that support system really helped me out especially in the world of teaching where many times you are handed the keys to your classroom, a textbook and told good luck.
The school district went through some redistricting which brought me to the building I am in now which serves 8th and 9th grade. I currently teach a mixture of math classes, mainly Math 8 (your typical 8th grade math class) and Algebra.
Through this blog I hope to improve myself and do more than just get the job done. I plan on rambling about happenings in my classroom, lesson ideas and other random tidbits.
Between my career and family life, it just doesn't get any better than this!
